Presentation

Via the ministerial order N° 78 of the 26^th of August, the Doctoral Anthropology School “D.A.S” was created and entrusted under the guidance of Oran University. In addition, this order named the partners and fixed the pedagogical seats number. The D.A.S has been set up by The University of Oran in partnership with the University of Tlemcen, The University of Mostaganem, the University of Tizi-Ouzou, The University of Béjaia, University of Cnstantine and the Socio-Cultural Anthropological Research Centre as the leader.

The quality of supervision and training offered are of great importance to the D.A.S. The doctoral curriculum aims to provide training in research and through research to the MA and PhD Students. Besides this, it aims to prepare future PhD for the scientific research and high education. This Doctoral training consists of two levels: Master of Arts (MA) for a period of two years and the Doctorate (PhD) for a period of four years. The access to the training (First level – MA) is by entrance examination for Bachelor of Arts (BA) holders in: Sociology, Psychology, Demography and Amazigh Language and Culture.

Academic year 2008/2009: First habilitation “ministerial order N° 98 of the 12^th of August, 2008.

Academic year 2012/2013: Second renewal “ministerial order N° 189 of the 15^th of July 2012 “five universities”.

Academic year 2014/2015: ministerial order N° 673 of the 13^th of August2014. This order enlarged the partnership to include four more universities: University of Ghardiai, University of Bejaia, University of Biskra and the University of Adrar.

For the 2014/2015 class, the national entrance examination took place on Thursday the 16^th of October 2017, at the level of each partner university. The number of registered candidates was 159.

Training report

1. Master of Arts

• 2006/2007 and 2008/2009 Classes: After having finished the first level of their Doctoral training, the student (53 one) have enrolled for the second level (Doctorate).
• 2012/2013 Class: Nineteen students out of the twenty-three enrolled students defended their thesis, only 12 are in the second level.
• 2014/2015 Class: twenty-two students are in the final phases of their thesis.

1. Doctorate

• 2006/2007 Class: Seven students enrolled for the second level of the training, only five of them defended their thesis.
• 2008/2009 Class: Only two students enrolled.
• 2010/2011 Class: Eleven students enrolled.
