Tlemcen Spring University: Heritage, Culture and Anthropology

The spring university in Tlemcen focused on the architectural and cultural heritage of this emblematic city. Student researchers had the opportunity to interact directly with an environment rich in historical monuments: traditional dwellings, mosques and unique urban spaces. These elements served as the basis for in-depth research in urban anthropology.

Alongside the field visits, the participants attended lectures given by experts in scientific fields: literature, history and music, as well as by their professors. These activities helped them o both learn and deepen their understanding of the themes linked to their research. It was an enriching and unifying experience.

These spring universities, organised in a stimulating setting, brought together students from different regions of the country (East, West, Centre, South). Not only did they enable them to develop their skills in anthropological research, they also encouraged cultural and scientific exchanges between participants. These meetings have strengthened links between regions and contributed to a better understanding of national socio-cultural diversity.
