The city of Ghardaia has been the ideal setting for developing a wide range of research questions, including:

Clothing style: A strong marker of identity, this field of investigation has made it possible to analyze the links between tradition and everyday life.

Architecture and urbanism: Dwellings, mosques, and minarets have been major objects of study to understand the region distinctive architectural style.

Sociocultural aspects: Researchers have explored themes such as transformations of family structures, the role of women in public spaces (e.g., the hammam) and the impact of social change.

Students, accompanied by their supervisors, conducted field research using methodological tools such as direct observation and interviews. Before each training, they had to prepare a research question and a methodological note, then record their results in notebooks or observation sheets. These experiences were enriched by detailed methodological reports, in accordance with the standards of anthropological research.
