An Algerian Arab university professor and intellectual, one of the leading figures in literature and literary criticism of our time, a researcher and encyclopaedic writer, and a creative writer—in the fields of short stories, novels and plays—. He held the post of President of the Supreme Council for the Arabic Language in Algeria.

Permanent researcher and Research Director specialising in linguistics within the humanities. He serves as a Unit Director on Culture, Communication, Languages, Literatures, and Arts (UCCLLA). Throughout his career, he has led and contributed to numerous major institutional research projects focusing on manuscripts, folk tales, Ottoman-era poetry, and oral literature in Algeria.

Professor of Literature and Translation affiliated with the University of Oran 1 Ahmed Ben Bella and a prominent researcher at the Centre de Recherche en Anthropologie Sociale et Culturelle (CRASC). His extensive academic output focuses on modern Arabic literature, the Algerian novel, comparative literature, translation studies, and the cultural representations of gender and intercultural dialogue.
