Permanent researcher at the Research Center in Social and Cultural Anthropology (CRASC) with the rank of Research Director, specializing in literary criticism and cultural studies; associate researcher at the Center for Maghreb Studies; member of the research laboratory "The Sacred: Expressions and Representations" at the University of Mostaganem; member of the editorial board of Insaniyat journal; member of the reading committee for ALTRALANG Journal; and head of the research project "Bibliography of the Algerian Feminist Novel." My latest publications include the book The Impact of Textual Contexts on the Construction of the Image of Self and Other in Rachid Boudjedra's Novel "The Denial": A Thematic Study (2026), and an article titled "Cinematic Narrative Techniques In Amara Lakhous' Novel 'Tir Ellil' - Afaq Sinimaiya".

Djilali El Mestari, Researcher in Philosophy of Religion

Center for Research in Social and Cultural Anthropology

Djilali El Mestari is a Research Professor at the Center for Research in Social and Cultural Anthropology (CRASC, Oran, Algeria). He holds a Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion from the University of Oran. He served as the Director of CRASC from 2017 to 2021, and was previously the Director General of the National Institute for Research in Education (INRE) from 2016 to 2017. His research focuses on religious discourse, education and citizenship, and the communitarian question. He has participated in numerous national and international projects, most recently leading two ongoing research projects on: social sciences and humanities textbooks (1963–2020), and the production of religious knowledge in official religious institutions.

In 2022, alongside researchers from Italy and France, he co-edited issue 95/96 of the journal Insaniyat on the socio-anthropology of the religious in the Mediterranean. He also co-edited a collective book published by CRASC with Dr. Soraya Mouloudji titled: Society and the Pandemic. He has published several articles and research papers on religious and educational discourse in Algeria. His three most recent publications include:

Rosa Mahdjoub holds a Ph.D. in Education Sciences and is an international expert serving as Head of Department at the National Observatory of Education and Training (ONEF) in Algeria.Her research focuses on the efficiency, equity, and governance of education systems in Africa, as well as early childhood development. She earned her doctorate from the University of Haute-Alsace and is an affiliated researcher at the LISEC Laboratory in France and the Research Center for Social and Cultural Anthropology (CRASC) in Algeria. Recognized for her expertise, she has carried out numerous consultancy assignments for major international organizations, including UNICEF, UNESCO, and the World Bank. She is also the author of several widely recognized research articles on the performance and functioning of school systems, particularly in Algeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.
