Madjid Dahmane has been a permanent researcher at the Research Center on Scientific and Technical Information (CERIST) since 1990. He obtained a State Doctorate in Information Science from the University of Bordeaux III in 1990 and was promoted to Research Director in 2000. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Algiers and has taught at other higher education institutions. He served as Director of the National Library of Algeria from 2013 to 2016. He has authored numerous national and international publications and has made significant contributions in the fields of library and information science, documentary information systems, competitive intelligence, and the national information system.
