Society(ies) and Pandemic

This collective volume presents the scientific reflection initiated by Centre for Research in Social and Cultural Anthropology (CRASC) regarding the Covid-19 pandemic and its various impacts on Algeria and the wider world, through preliminary readings and hypotheses about the first period of the health crisis. This reflection is the result of the work of the first international virtual conference entitled "Society and the pandemic", organised on the 3rd and 4th of June 2020, in partnership with the Faailoone (Fa3iloon) Centre specialising in research in anthropology and the social and human sciences. The conference followed on from the contributions made by CRASC researchers regarding "The experience of Algerians during the lockdown period and the post-Covid-19 strategy", which featured in the scientific report of the Regional Conference of Western Universities. The various research papers, presented in multidisciplinary perspectives, focus on the social, economic, psychological, and legal dimensions of the pandemic.
