Oasis society and new trends of agriculture in the Maghreb

This volume on oasis societies and emerging trends in Saharan agriculture brings together a series of contributions addressing rural society, food security, socio-economic transformations, and spatial organisation in the arid regions of the Maghreb. The findings presented in each article are based on fieldwork conducted within the framework of various research projects. The volume aims to provide an up-to-date scientific perspective on current dynamics and to enrich the debate on the sustainability of interventions in these vulnerable southern regions. Agricultural policy, the interplay of actors in land and water access, environmental challenges, ongoing adaptations, the cross-border trade of dates, and the role of rural women constitute the primary themes of this CRASC publication.
