abstract

The central theme of these two study days, the proceedings of which we are presenting today for publication, falls within the framework of the National Research Program (PNR). The project of the research team "Places of Knowledge, Places of Power," which is affiliated with the Research Laboratory in the Anthropology of History and Memory, aims to address a series of questions regarding: "The production of knowledge in the field of humanities: history, philosophy, law" and its relationship to institutions and memory in Algeria and the Maghreb region. The project is based on the hypothesis that any society, at a given historical stage, produces knowledge structured on independent theoretical foundations and methodological data. Nevertheless, this knowledge always emerges in the shadow of political and social institutions that seek to frame it ideologically. Between knowledge, power, and collective memory, there are relationships that need to be clarified, and whose impacts on the functions of the social sciences and their academic status must be highlighted.
