Individual Destinies and Collective History

This collective volume, conceived as a follow-up to the the tribute day for Fanny Colonna (1934–2014) organized at the CRASC in collaboration with the CNRPAH and the IREMAM in 2016, is an extension rather than a snapshot of that event. As will become clear from the texts that follow, several authors who were not present at the event because, in addition to inviting certain researchers who were unable to attend the event in Oran (CRASC), we have included a number of texts by researchers we have met through our regular academic exchanges ; these researchers did not necessarily know or work with Fanny Colonna personally, but have made professional use of her work in their doctoral research, lectures or academic work.
